The Lodger: A Story of the London Fog

The Archive Project proudly presents Viola player and filmmaker Hugo Max on his fourth UK tour accompanying Alfred Hitchcock's 1927 silent masterpiece The Lodger with live score.

Includes a pre-screening talk.

Packed with stylistic flourishes and experimental trick shots that would become defining trademarks of Hitchcock's film language, the third feature by the Master if Suspence is a gripping murder mystery propelled by Ivor Novello's iconic central performance.

Film Synopsis:

London. A mysterious serial killer brutally murders young blond women by stalking them in the night fog. One foggy, sinister night, a young man who claims his name is Jonathan Drew arrives at the guest house run by the Bunting family and rents a room.
