Reedsman Theo Travis is no stranger to the Electric Palace having previously provided live musical accompaniment to the cinema’s silent movie shows. For this date he brings his cutting-edge band Double Talk for their debut appearance at the venue.
Double Talk are Theo (saxophones and flute), Mike Outram (electric guitar), Pete Whittaker (organ) and Nic France (drums). They will be showcasing material from their latest acclaimed CD Transgression, their third.
Theo’s impressive CV includes being a member of David Sylvian’s live band, collaborating with King Crimson founder Robert Fripp for the CD Thread, and recently blowing tenor on David Gilmour’s 2015 European tour. He is a regular of the current incarnation of legendary underground group Soft Machine alongside guitarist John Etheridge who we were delighted to host at the Electric Palace last year.
Double Talk blend ambient electronic music, jazz and progressive rock into a coruscating whole.
This will be a concert like no other.
