Welcome to Funny Rabbit (18+)

£6 Advance/£7 on the Door

Please be aware that due to circumstances beyond our control there has been a change to the line up as previously advertised.

Welcome back to Funny Rabbit! This show is slightly different as it welcomes two fantastic performers previewing their Edinburgh Fringe Hours before their month-long marathon. Join for a different night than usual, but still just as quality!

Pauline Eyra: Body

Menopause: the comedy gift that keeps on giving. Until it’s over. Then what? Pauline Eyre is coming to terms with being post-menopausal… so that’s, just, getting old, isn’t it? Oh crumbs! I’m not ready! And I’ve forgotten to write this bit in the third person!

Ahem.

She’s had it all her life and finally, comedian Pauline Eyre is ready to celebrate her body. It’s quite challenging, learning to love yourself, isn’t it? But if you don’t do it now, when will you?

“a comedy show about what it means to be a woman in your 50s learning to live… with some of the most special and perhaps horrifying experiences of life. Her humour is extraordinarily infectious, and I can assure you that regardless of your age you will have a lot of fun” (British Theatre)

Audience reviews:

…it was hilarious (Barbara)

…I’d do it again (Matthew)

…I encourage you to see Pauline’s Body too (Teresa)

…so should you (John)

…laughed out loud without wetting myself (Carrie)

…realised I should apologise to my mum (Michaela)

…I’ll never pee myself again (Julie)

…I fell in love ;o) (PK)

…I forgot my own issues for a while (Elaine)

…it was the funniest thing I’ve seen for a long time (Bryony)

…it weren’t ‘alf bad (Mike)

…I had a little cry (Jay)

…I am a changed man and see the universe in a different light (Colin)”

“…her humour is extraordinarily infectious” (British Theatre)

Kathryn Mather: Scream Inside Your Heart

Join award winning comedian Kathryn Mather in this slightly dark, slightly whimsical show about finding love and finding yourself against the backdrop of the pandemic. The ultra-cynical Kathryn Mather used to be a children’s entertainer, and now seems to relish the chance to explore darker thoughts her old job would never allow.

Star of Tv’s Comedy Central Live!

★★★★★ “A revelation… The Rochdale comic does a fine line in lugubriousness (the accent helps) and has some imaginatively skewed takes on things. Perfectly delivered asides… She’s very impressive” The Wee Review

“The ultra-cynical Kathryn Mather… used to be a children’s entertainer, and now seems to relish the chance to explore darker thoughts her old job would never allow. Her black humour certainly hit a chord with the room.” Chortle

“It’s not controversy for controversy’s sake, it’s deftly handled and occasionally veers towards surreal.” Cup of Beans

“Mather, whose material is dark, sharp, largely unprintable and often downright bizarre. Her set was a crowd favourite, managing to never offend while delivering no-holds-barred material.” The Oxford Times

“Her delivery is very downbeat in style, but this comes across as naturalistic. The material was well written and it had a fresh feel to it. No one else is doing anything on welding or shipping losses and so this was a welcome change.” Notts Comedy Review
